Cold storage enclosure requirements

The panel specification should start with the required internal temperature, room size, humidity exposure, operating cycle, and washdown needs. These factors affect core selection, facing material, thickness, joint sealing, and door detailing.

• Vapour-control detailing to limit condensation and ice formation
• Cleanable internal finishes suited to the operating environment
• Service penetrations planned without interrupting the insulated envelope

Suitable insulated panel systems

Skybee cold room panels use polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam cores with tongue-and-groove connections. Project requirements can also call for PUF sandwich wall panels or PIR wall panels where different facing, fire-performance, or finish priorities apply.

Thickness and thermal considerations

The current cold room panel range supports thicknesses from 30 mm to 200 mm. The correct selection is project-specific and should be confirmed against the target temperature, ambient conditions, room dimensions, door openings, and operating schedule rather than chosen from a generic price list.

Installation and maintenance

• Confirm floor, wall, and ceiling junction details before fabrication
• Use compatible flashings and sealants at joints and penetrations
• Inspect door seals, panel joints, and high-traffic areas periodically
• Repair damaged facings promptly to protect the insulation core
